Litigation Paralegal  (Full-Time/Remote)

Larson Health Advocates, a boutique Seattle law firm, specializing in healthcare defense has an immediate opening for a full-time litigation paralegal position. The position is remote/virtual, but we are looking for someone based in the Pacific Northwest (with the ability to travel to Seattle quarterly for team events).

The virtual nature of this job requires a motivated, tech-savvy individual with strong communication skills. New employees receive 15 days of PTO (prorated from start date), 10 paid holidays + paid firm closure the last week of the year, premium health/vision/dental insurance, cell phone benefit and retirement matching.  We have a diverse team of 7 attorneys and 6 staff and we believe in maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare chronologies of medical records;
  • Communicate directly with clients, attorneys, court personnel, experts and other legal professionals;
  • Prepare authorizations and stipulations for record retrieval;
  • Draft correspondence, memorandums, discovery, pleadings and other documents;
  • Manage deadlines to ensure efficient case development;
  • Prioritize, review, organize and summarize a high volume of medical records;
  • Conduct medical, jury verdict and expert witness research;
  • Manage the discovery process;
  • Provide case status updates to the team on a regular basis;
  • Assist with trial preparation and deposition prep as needed.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have the following:

  • 2 - 4 years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with medical malpractice matters;
  • Knowledge of local and state court rules;
  • Strong knowledge of the discovery process;
  • Experience with trial preparation (preferred but not required);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Office, including PowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines;
  • Excellent attention to detail and superior ability to prioritize.
